Cesky Krumlov

Situated in Southern Bohemia, not far from the Austrian border, Cesky Krumlov retains an historic medieval old town untouched by war or development.

The old town is dominated by the chateau built on hills to the north and encompassed by the curl of the river Vltava which swirls in an Ox bow around it.

Many of the buildings as well as the chateau feature an exterior decoration known as sgraffito, a form of wall painting. Inevitably Cesky Krumlov is high on the list of "must see" places in the Czech Republic, the historic centre is protected by UNESCO World Heritage status which restrains commercial development and ensures future visitors will be able to continue to enjoy their time in the town.
